The Disney Princess club on a site called Fanpop is the reason I was able to share my love for Disney Princesses. The users on the site are so welcoming and love to participate in games, polls, and discussions about the Disney Princesses. I’ve been on there close to 10 years and we still never run out of things to talk about. There is the occasional racist/sexist/homophobic person, sure, but since the community is SO MUCH SMALLER than tumblr or any other website it’s not a daily occurrence like it is here. I’ve made lifelong friends there, it’s a very private site, and I highly recommend it to Disney Princess fans.

“When I was younger I had this Disney princess game for the PlayStation and I loved it so much! I played it all the time and it killed me when my mom got rid of it. I mean her logic made sense. We hadn’t used our PlayStation in years and so she decided to sell it along with all the games we had for it, and I mean I didn’t try to stop her. Even though I’m 21 now, I miss playing that game.”

“I was molested as a teen by a much older man who had a preference for underaged girls. Because of this, the fact that literally every Disney Princess is under 20 years old, yet they all have very adult bodies (except Snow White) AND are often scantily dressed (like Ariel and Jasmine), creeps me out, and I wish it creeped out more people.”

“It gets annoying seeing all the “I hope there’s a ________ princess to represent me!” posts. I understand where y’all are coming from with disabled princesses and various cultures, but a Disney princess shouldn’t be the reason you love yourself. You are not your disability or whatever else you’re looking for. Find the qualities that truly define you like your bravery, kind heart, infectious smile, etc., and find the princess that shares your quality. You are amazing and so much more.”

“I really want a Disney Princess who’s very obviously physically disabled but is still considered beautiful and strong. I’m an amputee with a fake arm and stuck in a wheelchair after a bad truck accident, and there have been people who tell me I’m not as attractive as I used to be, and even more act as if I’m some useless weakling. I just want something, anything, to tell me that it’s okay to be like me.”

“I wish that we could have more Disney princess or protagonists in general having a strong parental trait towards younger or other characters in general. Or even better the protagonist is a queen with a realistic, but healthy relationship with her husband and kids.”

Character Analysis Masterpost

An updated list of all character analysis posts I’ve created; great for cosplaying, those in the entertainment industry, people hoping to become character lookalikes, or just for an interesting read! I’ll continue to add onto it as they’re posted 🙂

“I really want Disney to do Disney Princess with Historically Accurate
costumes. ‘Cause I really want Belle in a Marie Antoinette dress. Or
even Snow White in a French Hood.”

A lot of people say that the Disney princess face characters are like mean girls. After meeting Aurora for the first time, I definitely got that impression. That being said, I loved talking to her, and felt a sense of accomplishment when she appeared to enjoy speaking with me too. We even joked around a bit, and she thanked me for coming to see her. Though I was a bit intimidated when meeting her by myself, the whole interaction was pure Disney magic.
